Vigor-SeaCal™

Description

Vigor-SeaCal, combines two powerful foliar materials, Vigor-Cal® and Symspray® into one convenient package. Agro-K’s calcium fertilizer, Vigor-Cal, is designed to improve fruit quality and firmness leading to higher packouts. Agro-K’s foliar seaweed, Symspray, is a nutrient spray that helps plants tolerate stress leading to imporved fruit quality. Combined into one package these two foliar materials can be instrumental in helping growers maximize fruit quality, yield and profitability.

Many soils can be short in available calcium. In addition, calcium does not move easily in the soil or within plant tissue. It is translocated through the xylem – moving generally to the leaves – where it gets bound into cell wall structures. Calcium is a key component of cell wall development; increased fruit/nut calcium levels lead to thicker, firmer cell walls which improve overall fruit integrity, firmness, weight and shelf life. Vigor-SeaCal addresses the limited mobility of calcium by supplying it directly to the fruit and surrounding foliage.

Peak demand timing for calcium is during fruit cell division which begins immediately at fruit set and continues through fruit/nut cell division.

Directions For Use
Vigor-SeaCal is designed for use on fruits, vegetables, nuts and other crops to build strong, durable cell walls. Vigor-SeaCal is most effective beginning at first bloom and continuing through the end of cell division. The recommended application rate is 1 to 4 quarts per acre. VigorSeaCal can be applied 2 – 3 times @ 7 – 10 day intervals between first bloom and the end of cell division. On annual crops that bloom continuously, Vigor-SeaCal can be used throughout the season at 14 – 21 day intervals. Vigor-SeaCal can also be used during the growing season before periods of intense heat to minimize heat stress on all plants.

Suggested Uses

Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers

Apply 1-4 pints per acre per application. Apply the first application 7-10 days prebloom. Subsequent applications can be made throughout the season at 14- 21 day intervals for fresh pick varieties to maximize fruit set, size and maturation through the final harvest. Vigor-SeaCal can also be rotated on a 10 14 day schedule with Vigor-Cal™.

Lettuce, Spinach and Other Leafy Vegetables as well as Broccoli, Cauliflower and Other Brassica Varieties

Apply 1-4 pints per acre. Apply the first application 14 days after transplanting, thinning, or at second true leaf stage. Apply one or two subsequent applications at 10 to 14 day intervals. Do not apply immediately prior to extreme heat.

Beans and Peas

Apply 2-4 pints per acre. Apply 1 or 2 applications beginning at bloom.

Strawberries

Apply 1-4 Quarts per acre. Apply first application beginning at bloom. Subsequent applications can be made throughout the season at 10-14 day intervals to maximize fruit set, size and firmness. Vigor-SeaCal can also be rotated on a 10-14 day schedule with Vigor-Cal™.

Citrus and Avocados

Apply 1 to 4 quarts per acre per application. Apply first application just prior to bloom. Apply subsequent applications at 30 day intervals up to harvest or as needed to supplement nutritional requirements.

Onions

Apply first application at bulb initiation. Apply at a rate of 2-4 pints. If larger bulbs are desired use 4 pints. Apply second application 10-14 days later.

Alfalfa

Apply 2-4 pints/acre after each cutting to encourage regrowth.

Cotton

Apply 2-4 pints/acre at the beginning of flowering.

Almonds, Walnuts and Other Nut Crops

Apply 1 or 2 applications at 1 to 4 qts per acre beginning at pre-bloom or at the start of bloom. Vigor-SeaCal can be mixed with most fungicide or insecticide applications, except copper based fungicides.

Plums, Peaches, Cherries and Other Stone Fruits

Apply 2 to 4 quarts per acre per application. Apply first application at pink to first bloom. Apply subsequent applications at 10-14 day intervals up to pit hardening.

Apples, Pears and Other Pome Fruits

Apply 2 to 4 quarts per acre per application. Apply first application at pink to first bloom. Apply subsequent applications at 7-10 day intervals through the end of fruit cell division. Switch to Vigor-Cal after that and continue on a 7-10 day schedule through harvest.

Melon Crops

Apply 2-4 pints per acre. Apply first application beginning at bloom. Subsequent applications can be made throughout the season at 14-21 day intervals to maximize size and firmness. Vigor-SeaCal can also be rotated on a 10-14 day schedule with Vigor-Cal™.

Grapes

Apply 2-4 pints per acre beginning pre-bloom and continuing through pea sized berries. Make applications on a 10-14 schedule depending on environmental conditions.

Blueberries

Apply 2 to 4 quarts per acre per application. Apply first application at first bloom. Apply 2-3 subsequent applications at 10-14 day intervals.

Raspberries, Blackberries and Other Caneberries

Apply 2-4 quarts per acre per application. Apply first application pre-bloom. Apply subsequent applications at 10-14 day intervals throughout the season.

Corn

Apply 2-4 pints/acre at flowering and repeat application at kernel fill. Product can also be used to help mitigate environmental stress conditions. If heat events are anticipated, preferably apply prior to the start of the heat event. Otherwise apply in late evening or early morning when temperatures are coolest. If crop is hailed, apply 2-6 pints/acre as soon as field conditions allow.

Sugar Beets

Apply 2-4 pints/acre beginning at root cell division. Repeat application as needed.

Wheat

Apply 2-4 pints/acre at flowering.

Hail Events

This product can be used to assist in crop recovery after hail events and can be used on all crops. Healing damaged tissue as quickly as possible and encouraging new growth is critical to saving the crop and maximizing yield potential. Applying product as soon as possible is critical for maximum efficacy. Product can be applied by air with fungicide applications. If air application is not possible, apply 2-6 pints/acre as soon as field conditions allow. Application can be repeated in 14 days.
